TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I believe that teaching is one of the best ways to positively impact the lives of others. Throughout my life, I have had many wonderful educators who have helped me become the person I am today.

I teach so that I can give back to the world what these educators have given to me. Creating a safe, inclusive and engaging environment is essential for allowing students to explore the world around them and develop to their full potential.

Helping students achieve academic success and personal development in their lives is a very rewarding experience, and drives my passion to teach. With the new challenges that 2020 has presented us, I see so many students help with their educational studies due to the new learning platforms and quadmester structures.

ABOUT ME

Since my first job as a teaching assistant at Pegasus Studios in the multimedia arts department, I have always found myself thriving in learning environments.

While studying concert percussion at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts, I began coaching musical ensembles and tutoring mathematics and science, which I have continued to do for over a decade. I graduated with Honours from Ryerson University where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, as well as a minor in Ethnomusicology. Before enrolling in my post-secondary studies, I joined the staff at Elite Music Academy, where I was a music instructor and course developer for ten years.

I recently graduated with Honours from York University where I completed a Bachelor of Education specializing in mathematics pedagogy. I have had experience working at an international private school where I created and taught a variety of high school courses, as well as help prepare the school for course accreditation inspections in compliance with the Ministry of Education.
